Associate Professor
Gina is Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental and Geographical Science, and a Research Chair at the African Climate and Development Initiative at the University of Cape Town. Her research focuses on climate change adaptation and development across scales from the household to municipal level. She is particularly interested in transdisciplinary projects that bring together civil society, government and academics to address problems collaboratively. She is a lead author on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 6th Assessment report. In 2015 she won the South African Young Woman in Science Award. She has authored numerous papers, book chapters and popular articles.
