The Tomorrow’s Cities Community of Practice Webinar Series is a collaboration between the RISK-KAN and Tomorrow’s Cities Project. RISK-KAN Working Group on Cities and Critical Infrastructure is a future earth supported international network (https://www.risk-kan.org/). The Tomorrow’s Cities Project team was funded by the UK Research and Innovation (https://tomorrowscities.org/mission/). Both are transdisciplinary networks focused on bringing science to better manage risk in complex urban environments. This series aims to serve as an opportunity to exchange experiences, learn from practice, and strengthen collaboration.

The webinar “Living Labs in Practice: Exploring Approaches, Actors and Pathways to Science-Aware Change”, taking place on 9 October 2026, 1–2 pm (GMT), explores different approaches and experiences of using Living Labs to connect science, co-creation, and real-world change. International contributions will provide insights into different contexts, actors, methods, and forms of collaboration. The presentations will set the stage for an interactive discussion on what defines a Living Lab, its key characteristics, and how Living Labs can enable science-aware change in practice. The aim is to explore the diversity of Living Lab approaches and foster exchange on their potential to connect research and practice.
