Dr. Amy Donovan
Lecturer in Geography and Environmental Hazards

Professor Amy Donovan's research delves into the interface between scientific knowledge and public policy on active volcanoes. She expresses a keen interest in understanding how science is utilized in decision-making processes related to volcanoes and explores the diverse ways in which different groups of people perceive volcanic risk and associated uncertainties. Drawing on a range of literature from the social sciences, Donovan conducts her work. Furthermore, she is actively engaged in the exploration of geochemical monitoring of volcanoes, employing gas and petrological analysis, and has contributed to research in these domains.
