Professor of Earth Systems Engineering
Richard addresses the understanding and analysis of risks and uncertainties in environmental and engineering systems. His research is necessarily a cross-disciplinary endeavour, involving collaboration with leading researchers, consultants and government agencies nationally and internationally. He has developed unique expertise in integrated systems modelling of coupled environmental-engineering and human systems, in particular for cities and their infrastructure.
